The Process

Thank you for considering me as your photographer and for taking the time to look over my work. So here is how this works:

Fill out the contact form on this website or give me a call. Let me know your preferred dates, how many people will be joining, and any occasion we’re celebrating. Once we confirm a date, I’ll send over a contract. A $200 deposit will hold your date for you.  You can always share your ideas and questions and of course we will talk before your shoot.

On the day of your shoot, you will meet me and an assistant on the beach, at a local waterfront, or another iconic location for a relaxed 1–2 hour photo session.

During your session, I’ll photograph a variety of family combinations and aim to capture natural, fun moments along the way.

After the session, I carefully select and edit the best images from your shoot, usually around 200 photographs. Each image is refined for color, contrast, and cropping to bring out its best.

Your finished photos are delivered in a personal, password‑protected online gallery. From there, you can download any or all of your images and enjoy full print rights.

After the shoot we can do an in person or Zoom consultation to go over your pictures and determine the best ones for printing. I do offer custom album design and print services. I am here for you long after our photo session.

Family Beach Photography

Family sessions are relaxed and fun. I photograph one family per evening during golden hour and sunset. Sessions are usually 1 to 2 hours long. We walk, we play, try and to get some great candid photos as well as a great family portrait to hang on the wall. Let me know your hopes and desires for your session and we will make that happen.

1-2 Hour Photography Sessions:

$550 up to 4 people
$600 for up to 8 people
$700 for 9 to 14 people
$800 for 15 and over

Proposals and Engagement Sessions

Celebrate this beautiful chapter with a dedicated photo session designed just for the two of you. Engagement shoots and proposal sessions with just the couple are $550. Proposals today have become an event, so if family or friends will be joining in to celebrate, please refer to the Family Pricing section. Your session includes time for an outfit change, and I’ll bring a changing tent so you can switch looks comfortably on location. Use me for your wedding and I will credit your engagement investment back.

Events

Each event is unique, and your photography should be too. I offer professional coverage for corporate functions, bridal and baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries, mitzvahs, and more, Share the details of your celebration, and I’ll create a custom quote.

Maternity

Maternity is a brief, beautiful season, and your photos should reflect just how meaningful it is. These sessions are all about celebrating the joy of new life, the connection you already share with your baby, and the love growing within your family. Together, we’ll create relaxed, natural images that feel like you. Maternity shoots start at $55o.

General Pricing FAQs

A: Whenever possible we will try and get the shoot in. Very rarely do we need to cancel. We love the clouds and light that summer showers and scattered storms bring, so don’t worry if you see rain clouds on the forecast days before your shoot. As they say in Hawai’i, “No Rain, No Rainbows.”

There are times when mother nature just will not cooperate, and in these rare cases we try and reschedule. If there is no way to get the shoot in while you are in Ocean City, I will return your deposit and we will try another time. I do reserve the right to make the final decision to cancel for bad weather.

A: Great question. Naturally how everyone looks has a direct effect on the outcome of the portraits. The new school of thought is to pick a palette of three or four colors and let everyone pick within that palette.

Wear flowy, breathable fabrics (linen, cotton) in neutrals or coastal tones like white, navy, tan, blush, sage, or dusty blue—no logos or busy patterns. Coordinate loosely (not matching) so everyone looks connected but natural. Barefoot is perfect; bring layers if chilly. Maybe a hair tie if it is windy. Pinterest has great ideas and examples and is a great resource. Search for “beach photo outfit ideas.” You’ll find gorgeous families in gorgeous outfits for inspiration. Please feel free to ask me about your outfits.

A: Culling and editing your photos is a large part of the process. Generally, it takes about two weeks before you get your photos back. In late July and August it might take longer.

A personal sneak peek can be arranged while you are in town at my office in Fenwick Island and is reccommended. This gives us a chance to go over your photos together, pick ones you truly love and see your options to display your photos.

Your photos will be placed in an online personal gallery and from there you can download any or all of your photos. You can also order prints directly from the gallery.

A: My preferred payment methods are Zelle and Venmo. I also will accept check or cash.

If you prefer, I can send an invoice to pay by credit or debit card. I charge 3% on all credit, debit and Paypal payments.

A deposit is due when you sign the contract. Your final payment is due on the day of the shoot.

A: I shoot family beach photo sessions most anywhere that suits your vibe. My two go-to spots are Fenwick Island State Park and the Ocean City Inlet—depending on where you’re staying. I avoid the Inlet on weekends and holidays to keep things relaxed. I also photograph at any Delaware State Parks up to Cape Henlopen.

We cI love to do sunrise and sunset sessions at the OC Inlet and Fenwick Island State Park.

Unless you are getting married down there, not really. As much as I love Assateague, to do professional photo shoots requires a permit, and it is a long drive in traffic in the summer. That being said I will always listen to ideas.

Fenwick Island State Park has the same feel, long unspoiled beach with no buildings for miles.

For me, an assistant is an essential part of the process. They’re my lighting specialist, my second pair of eyes, and often our pack mule—hauling gear in that trusty little red wagon. My assistant keeps everything running smoothly from start to finish.

It’s not really necessary. When we meet, we’ll still be dealing with some tough lighting—either harsh light for sunset shoots or low light for sunrise. We plan our sessions to give us plenty of time so we’re ready to go when the golden hour arrives.
